Principal Product Engineer Xalops Studios – Present
Develop and operate a portfolio of web applications and tools (including Archivist Elements), owning architecture, implementation, database evolution, deployment, and UX—from generator algorithms through authenticated, scoped content storage.
Content platform & data model
- Principal ownership of a user-generated content platform: versioned content models and long-horizon schema evolution.
- Multi-tenant-style scoping across vault, world, and subscription catalog boundaries.
- Auth and membership integration tied to what users can create, store, and retrieve.
Authoring experience & governance
- Architectural guardrails for session content and catalog visibility by role, reducing leak and consistency risk as modules grew.
- Authoring strategy: reference graph in prose, workspace tab isolation with deep-cloned snapshots.
- Explicit reconciliation vs silent migration when content shapes change.
- Accessible form and markdown labeling aligned with WCAG-minded audits.
Monorepo & release engineering
- Workspace packages for frontend, backend, and MCP admin tooling in a single product monorepo.
- Release trains and CI pipelines that build and deploy to split UI and API hosts.
- End-to-end ownership from generator logic through production operations.
Modular services & deployment
- Domain and service boundaries where a microservice-oriented split adds clarity—not ceremony.
- Shared RBAC and tenant isolation consumed by multiple services; contract-first APIs.
- Standardized delivery: container builds, environment promotion, secrets/config, observability—so services ship independently without breaking authorization or cross-service invariants.
